I am a scientist by training and an artist at heart. Science and Art may seem like opposites, but they are a perfect pairing in my view.
My understanding of science has amplified my wonder at the beauty in living things and this, in turn, informs my art.
Every work I have made as an artist has been propagated from something gathered from the natural world. At this time in my life, my drive to create has become irrepressible. I am compelled to make art—I really have no choice in the matter. Art is my life.
My fervent hope is that my art will delight you and change the way you look at living things.
I live in Austin, Texas with my better half and our three nearly-fledged children in a house filled with love.

My art business has been designated as a "Trusted Art Seller" with The Art Storefronts Organization, which means you can shop with confidence, and know that I stand behind the quality and value of my products.
I am often asked “Where do you get your ideas?” This is an unanswerable question really. The discovery of novel and beautiful ideas is a product of experience and a mind that looks at things differently. Every mind perceives and processes the world slightly differently. Some people make novel connections that others don't see. Such people are the creatives that bring so much joy to society. I am delighted when my work delights YOU.
I photograph trees and enhance the image by using graphic art software so that the viewer sees trees from a fresh perspective. Some works use the negative space among the branches to reveal the subject "in the tree branches." Other works complement and adorn the branches to draw the viewer's eye to the tree's architecture. I hope my artwork makes you look at trees more closely and with a bit more wonder.
The very best part of making art is seeing the joy it brings YOU. If my work lights up your face? THAT is success!
